A coup de foudre…While waiting for his lunch to arrive, Paul attempted to phone home to let his onetime girlfriend, Spring, know he'd arrived safely. But when he finally rang through, all he reached was the answering machine. That was odd—considering the time difference—it was the middle of the night back home…
By the time he'd settled down to eat, his headache was getting worse and he'd lost his appetite. He took a few aspirins while he pondered the situation. It wasn't as though he and Spring were an item—they'd dated a few times last year before he'd made an ass of himself at the New Year's Eve celebration when he'd openly oggled a chesty brunette while in her company.
She'd cooled considerably after that. And, when it was clear she was peeved at him, he'd decided if she didn't like it she could lump it…he would look elsewhere.
