Stalled out…
Less than twenty minutes after turning onto the main road their luck—if they'd had any to begin with— abandoned them along with the light. The jeep made a clunking sound, lurched, and then died.
After coasting to a stop, Jolene tried restarting it but the engine refused to turn over.
